Safeguarding policy
The leadership of Starbeck Mission recognise our responsibility to protect children, young people, and adults at risk who are entrusted to our care. Safeguarding is the duty of the whole church community.
We are committed to:
-
Valuing every person as made in the image of God and treating all with dignity and respect.
-
Creating a safe environment in which children, young people, and vulnerable adults are protected from abuse of any kind.
-
Following safer recruitment practices, including references and DBS checks where required, for all who work with children or vulnerable adults.
-
Providing appropriate training, supervision, and support for those in safeguarding roles.
-
Responding promptly and appropriately to concerns, working with statutory authorities where necessary.
-
Offering care and support to those affected by abuse, and managing safely any who may pose a risk.
-
Reviewing this policy regularly and updating it in line with good practice and legislation.
